What We Do

Annual School Scholarships

We give annual school scholarships to schools in our area (Fridley, St. Anthony Village, Edison, De La Salle). These scholarships range from $1000 to $1,500 for each student. We gave 10 scholarships last year.

Coordinate Philanthropy Events With Key Club Students

We coordinate events with the Fridley Key Club and St. Anthony Village students. We attend some events such as the Fridley Harvest Pack bagging which supplies food to kids that do not have enough to eat on weekends. The students from Fridley and St. Anthony Village regularly attend and help our events. For example, Key Club Students often help with the party we host for children with disabilities in the community.

Food For Those In Need

Our members come together to make sandwiches for Nonprofits in the Northeast Minneapolis area, which are then provided to those in need in the community.

Meals On Wheels

We regularly work with Meals on Wheels to deliver food to people in need.

Support For Nonprofits

We provide funding for 501 (c)(3) Nonprofits that do good in the community. For example, we provide funding to the NE Titans, who supply hockey equipment, coaching, and ice time, to kids in High School.

Weekly Kiwanis Club Meetings

We meet every Tuesday at Noon at Elsie’s Restaurant and Bowling Alley. At the start of each meeting we say the Pledge of Allegiance, an invocation, and the Kiwanis Mission, “Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world, one child and one community at a time”. We then have a short business meeting where we discuss club goals, local events, scholarships etc. followed by a humorous presentation by Walt Sentyrz of birthdays and anniversaries of famous people that align with that day in history. Lunch is provided by Elsie’s! Each week we generally have a speaker from outside the group with a varied discussion on numerous subjects.
